WoWyrd
Available now · On-premise · wowyrd.net

Pre-transaction risk control for financial and high-velocity platforms.

Observe-first, on-premise. Sees weak fraud signals earlier — before onboarding, payment, or payout workflows create irreversible exposure — inside the operator's own environment.

The problem

Most controls decide after a request already entered application logic, triggered external checks, or reached a workflow that's expensive or irreversible to unwind — a poor fit for instant / account-to-account rails, where money, once sent, is gone.

Cloud-hosted fraud vendors add a second problem: they need sensitive data to leave the operator's environment. For regulated banks, that's increasingly a non-starter on its own.

How it works — three planes
01

Signal Plane

Ingests what you already trust — edge headers/logs, app & payment events, threat-intel feeds, batch import. No raw packets required.

02

Risk Plane

Velocity counters, a deterministic explainable rule pack, and a correlation engine linking related events — every signal produces a human-readable reason. Independent weak signals occurring together (e.g. an automation/bot label alongside threat-intel or account-lifecycle signals) produce one additional, explainable compound reason.

03

Control Plane

Starts at observe and report. Anything stronger needs an operator's explicit approval before it can activate — off by default.

How a pilot runs
One stream. Onboarding, payout, payment initiation, or a suspicious login→payment sequence — one measurable question, not a platform rollout.
2–4 weeks, observe-only. Mirror mode inside the operator's environment. No inline decision on day one.
Weekly evidence review. Which signals were useful, which were noise — measured, not claimed.
A decision report. Top triggered rules, false-positive candidates, and a no-go / continue-observing / controlled-enforcement-candidate recommendation.
Use cases

Why now
Nacha (2026, live)Credit-push fraud monitoring now required for ACH originators, TPSPs, RDFIs.
UK APP reimbursement50/50 sending + receiving PSP liability — forces receiver-side monitoring.
EU PSD3 / PSRVerification of Payee pushes risk checks earlier in the payment path.
DORAOperational-resilience and third-party-risk rules favor on-prem, data-sovereign processing.
What WoWyrd is not: a cloud scoring API, a KYC/AML replacement, or autonomous day-one blocking. A pre-transaction signal layer, complementary to existing KYC, AML, sanctions, and fraud tooling.
