FCA draft guidance CP26/38 and WoWyrd
WoWyrd runs in your own environment, as an additional layer next to your current tools, and scores each payment before the money moves on.
The FCA's draft guidance CP26/38, published on 23 October 2026 and open for comment until 24 December, names 16 example warning signs of APP fraud and money-mule activity. By our own mapping, WoWyrd's released rule pack already checks 4 of them directly and 7 more in part.
- Money that arrives and leaves an account within minutes.
- A dormant account that suddenly wakes up.
- A payout right after a password or contact-detail change.
The draft lists “transaction monitoring on inbound and outbound transactions” as good practice. WoWyrd scores incoming payments as well as outgoing ones. Every check returns an explainable reason. This is draft guidance, not a final rule, and WoWyrd does not make a firm compliant. A pilot on your own data shows which of these signs appear in your traffic.
